The Feedstock (FIELD)
FieldField to Pump is the Utilization of marginal land for the growth of Pennycress as a Biodiesel Feedstock. Pennycress will surpass and produce more biodiesel per acre than any other feedstock in the world. Pennycress thrives on marginal land and harsh climates making FTP the premier feedstock available today all while eliminating the food verses fuel argument. Pennycress biodiesel is the best cold weather performing biodiesel in existence.

The Pennycress meal (left over from crush process) can be burned for energy or utilized as a pest control agent and fertilizer making this process 100 % renewable. No waste no landfills.

PENNYCRESS - The Best Biodiesel Feed Stock in the World

  • Grow on "Marginal Land" which is not good for "Food Crop" farming
    • No "Food Versus Farming" Issues
  • "Fire and Target" Farming
    • Just plant the seeds and watch it grow
    • Minimal water and fertilizer required
    • 3 pass instead of 7 pass farming
  • Can be grown in urban environments or in rural environments where sightlines need to be preserved
    • Grows only 2 feet high
  • By-products have multiple uses
    • Meal can be used as a fungicide or herbicide
  • High yield per acre (95-190 of oil per acre)
  • Makes the best biodiesel in the world in terms of cold weather performance

PhytoremediationPhytoremediation - Natures Answer To Contaminated Soils

  • Phytoremediation is the use of plants to remove contaminants from the soil and the air
  • Pennycress is a "Hyperaccumulator" of heavy metals
  • Known to remove nickel and cadmium
  • Studies are underway to show the efficacy to remove arsenic as well as other contaminants including lead*
  • May also reduce greenhouse gases in the air
  • Leaves and meal must be burnt or digested to isolate and remove contaminants from the soil

*Efforts are underway to secure a grant through Michigan State University to study Pennycress' ability to remove lead

Crush PlantCrush Plant

  • Cleanly and safely converting crops into biodiesel input oils
  • Convert oil seeds into oil and meal
  • Take Phytoremediation inputs, separate oil seeds and send contaminated meal and follage to incinerator or biodigestor
  • Safe and scaleable - modular approach to assembly
    • Portable
    • Can isolate contaminants from agricultural products
  • Simple and safe to operate
  • Complete logistic solutions for moving biomass, outputs and byproducts
  • Proven technology that has been used in the industry for decades
  • No dangerous chemicals soil

Why Biodiesel?

  • Biodiesel is a clean (78% less CO2 emissions) and renewable alternative fuel
  • Biodiesel works within the existing petroleum distribution network
  • No major distribution infrastructure changes are required
  • biodiesel blends are warranted in most existing diesel engines and certified by ASTM
  • mileage per gallon is roughly the equivalent (98% - 102%) to that of standard fuel
  • The energy yield per unit of input is 3.24 units versus <1 unit gasoline, and ~ 1.35 units corn ethanol
  • Currently the US consumes 80 billion gallons of diesel fuel each year and produces less than 700 million gallons of biodiesel
